Wedding Photo Albums
The only real difference between modern wedding photo albums and versions from fifty years ago is that they would have contained monochrome images; technology has started to give us alternatives though! These albums generally have the same conventions and that means that the bride will be the first person you seen inside the cover. Most photographers will then find a special location after the ceremony to take some warm pictures of the married couple together for the album after the service. Next of the photos you will find in a modern wedding photo album will be one with the wedding party dressed in their finery. The whole group is made up of friends and family of the bride and groom; there is probably a very similar picture in their parent's album. The bride will also want a number of photos that include her surrounded by her bridesmaids for the day, exactly the same as her mother did. The family of the groom poses for a picture that ends up in the album, and there is another one of the bride with her family. Wedding photo albums are generally large bound examples that contain pictures that are bigger than usual on pages that may be inlaid or embossed. Wedding photo albums will normally be in white with traditional decoration in the form of wedding bells and horseshoes; usually embossed to enhance the appearance further. Tradition states that these wedding albums use gold or silver (especially the text) with the photos laid out inside shaped ‘masks' for added effect. It may be a long while before physical albums are replaced but a more permanent record of the day can now be shown on a cd rom or dvd which most wedding photographers are able to supply themselves. Every bride and groom should have their photos placed on a disc as they are less likely to be damaged and can be taken anywhere and displayed on large screens if required. Images stored on a disc are easily reproduced so every single guest can benefit from a full set of pictures in a digital wedding photo album. It is just as easy then for guests to look at the photos at their own leisure and have copies of their favorite shots printed off whenever they wish. The latest digital photo frames mean you can see a slide show of images wherever you wish to place the viewer; this adds a new and novel touch to looking at pictures. |
